Our last comps, new training, and goals for 2025

Wrapping Up 2024 and Thank You!
Zach competing at the Pan American Championships 2024

These last few months of 2024 have been slower than the summer months, but that's not saying much!

Zach competed at the Pan American Championships at the end of November, finishing 15th. It wasn't the result he had in mind, but we learned a lot from that event.

A few weeks later, Zach competed at a local competition on the other side of the Ottawa River, in Gatineau. He took home 1st place and tied up our 2024 season nicely.

Now it's time to plan.

With 2025 fast approaching, time feels like it's moving in hyper-speed towards the World Cup season. The first event is in mid-April, and I'm clutching to every training day I have until then.

I'm currently in the middle of the hardest training cycle of my off-season, which means I have less and less time on my hands. With the time I do have, I feel like I need to lay on the couch all day to be prepared for the next day's training.

It's a phase I've been looking forward to and dreading all at once, but with the IFSC season now on the horizon, I'm feeling more motivated by the day.

Next year's schedule is set for the international season but is still up in the air for a few North American events. Here's what we're looking at so far:

With 2025 being a World Championship year, it's important to pace ourselves and limit the local and optional events as much as possible to prioritize our performances at the competitions that matter the most. To that end, Zach and I are not attending the High Performance Competition held in Vancouver in January, and Studio Bloc Masters, held in Germany in March.

Of course, we will likely be swayed as the season unfolds!

As the year comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our supporters from 2024.
